Guidelines for Nursing Homes
These guidelines provide recommendations for nursing home employers to help reduce the number and severity of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in their facilities. It identifies problems and provides solutions for client handling tasks such as patient transfers (bed to chair, chaif to toilet, chair to chair etc..), lateral transfers (bed to stretcher, trolley), repositioning patients in bed, and repositions patients on a chair. it also identifies problems and solutions for tasks not related to client handling such as storage and transfer of food, supplies, and medications, the used of mobile medical equipment, working with liquids, the use of hand tools, the moving and storage of linen, doing the laundry, housekeeping, and waste disposal.
