high performers. e.g. Results of Orientation benchmarking. For
practices and solutions submitted from individual workplaces,
implementation of the practices has resulted in self-confirmed
success for the workplace.
Safe Practice
Practices that are deemed suitable
for use by most workplaces or specific to industry groups, e.g.
Industry health and safety guides.
Guidelines
General information to help workplaces
develop safe operating procedures but are not specific enough
to be deemed a practice. e.g. MOL Guide to Forklift Operation.
Technical Publication
Detailed information related to
a hazard or process. e.g. NIOSH Criteria Documents.
Fact Sheet
Short document that highlights
key information related to hazard or process e.g. CCOHS Infograms.
Hazard Alert
Provides specific information
to deal with specific hazard or circumstance. Would include
recognition and control. e.g. MOL and SWA alerts.
Tools
Ready to use models,checklists,
forms and templates. e.g. IAPA inspection form.
Topic
Safety, Management and other topics
are provided. These topics may change as new documents are provided
in the database.
Sector
A list of sectors is provided. All
sectors indicates that the practice may be useful to multiple sector
groups.

If applicable the location of the
